Teachers that have helped me most
Michael "Hawkeye" Herman
The teacher I have done most lessons with at JamPlay.com. Very knowledgable on the blues. Born in 1945 he has played with and talked to a large number of the old school of traditional blues players. He learned at the feet of many icons of the blues, including: Son House, Brownie McGhee, Bukka White, Mance Lipscomb, Furry Lewis, Lightin' Hopkins, John Jackson, K.C. Douglas, and Sam Chatmon.
Hawkeye answers students queries with great patience and gives a great deal of thought and gives a lot of detail in his answers.
Hawkeye gives his lessons with such enthusiasm it makes learning a pleasure.
Quite how he fits it all in with his touring, CDs and teaching in schools I do not know. What I do know is that he loves the Blues.

David Wallimann
David Wallimann was the first teacher who had me understanding how modes work. He gives his lessons and videos with a wonderful quirky humour.
At the age of 15, he picked up the guitar and started developing a true love for instrumental music and composition.
In 1999 at the age of 22 he was recognized by Ibanez for his promising musical achievements and received an artist endorsement. That early recognition in David's musical career encouraged him to consecrate more time on crafting his musical art and apply to the school of modern music Artist' in Cavaillon, France. He received a full scholarship there where he graduated with honors.
In 2001, David won first place for the Tal Farlow French national jazz contest which gave him a full paid scholarship to the CMA school of modern music in Valenciennes, France. He graduated specializing in advance guitar with honors.
He worked with several bands recording, writing and playing shows in France and Belgium. It's during that time that Wallimann was exposed to the world of progressive rock. In 2005 he joined the internationally renown progressive band Glass Hammer based in Chattanooga, TN. He released several studio albums and live DVDs with the band. David is today working on his next upcoming solo release and is also spending quite a bit of time teaching guitar in his studio and online at www.JamPlay.com.

Rob Chapman
Rob Chapman is a graduate of London's Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (then known as the Guitar Institute) one year diploma.
Rob graduated in 1995 and he then moved to Canada to join a band with ex-Drum Institute member Ian Brenchley. They later relocated to England and toured in many Rock/Blues bands based in London and Canada, playing with members of Status Quo and White Snake. Eventually Rob rested in Wiltshire to teach guitar professionally.
I am forever grateful to Rob for introducing to me the idea of intervallic recognition. Through studying his CD I made a huge step forward as I started to hear in my head the notes I wanted to play on the fretboard and then started to find I could play them.
